In Honduras, the president ousted and an interim president now in control - Comments by Brahm Hattingh

Christian, you have a ruler, a permanent one. His name is Jesus.

From time to time, you decide to oust Him. To move Him out of His seat of parliament and you replace Him with an interim president. That interim president is called Sin, Self or Satan. It is during those times that the government in your life does not function well and the country suffers.

The country in this case is you and people around you. Bring the real president back, and joy and peace that surpass all understanding returns.

Phil 4:7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Keep Jesus on the throne of your heart, and you will have no reason to appoint an interim president.

British & Irish rugby player suspended for dangerous play - Comments by Brahm Hattingh

Rugby can be a dangerous game to play. That is why there are rules and referees. The referees are there to apply the rules in order to ensure that players do not get hurt unnecessarily and also to make the game fair.

What about the game of life? We have the rules; it is written in the Bible. The problem is that we often play without a referee. We fall into sin because we do not have a referee and we do not keep to the rules. We get hurt because we do not have a referee.

If you find that you battle with a specific sin, lying, stealing, alcohol abuse, and pornography etc - Why not appoint a referee? Someone who is more mature in the faith. Someone who can hold you accountable. There will be much less injuries as you play the game of life.

Keep Jesus in your government and appoint a referee.

A most blessed day to all!

Amendments are in the pipeline that will give police greater power to use legal force against dangerous criminals - Comments by Brahm Hattingh

People are very concerned that this law will open up more opportunity for some police officers to abuse their rights. Did you know that this should not concern Christians at all?

Rom 13:3 For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval

The Roman Christians had the same concern than what we have. Christian, let us support the authorities and do good, so that the name of our Savior will be made great in how we live.

KwaZulu Natal doctors are set to return to work today - Comments by Brahm Hattingh

God is quick to bless us when we turn back to Him.

Although we can not directly compare the strike by doctors with sin, what happened is a good illustration of us sinning against God and how He forgives.

There are differences that point out God’s goodness above man’s goodness, and there are similarities.

Government neglected the needs of the doctors. God never neglect us.
The doctors rebelled against the government. We rebel against God.
The Government shows limited and provisional grace. The doctors set demands and threaten with another strike. God gives unreserved grace to those whom He calls to be His own.

Think of the prodigal son. When he returned to his father, the father not only forgave him, but poured out evidence of His love on the son. Undeserved, the son received in abundance. That is how God works with His children. No matter how far you are away from Him.

Return now, and be surprised at how quick and to what extent He proves His love for you.

Trouble in the Springbok team - Comments by Brahm Hattingh

Schalk Burger and Bakkies Botha uses excessive aggression and paying the penalty by being suspended for 8 and 2 weeks respectively. Their actions lead to their own suffering and also the suffering of the rest of the team who will have to do without their services for the remaining test against the British and Irish Lions.

The same principle applies to when we sin. We tend to think that our sins occur in isolation and that is never the case. Our sins affects everyone around us and even our secret sins affect our relationships with others. David confessed his public as well as his secret sins. Psa 90:8: You have set our iniquities before you, our secret sins in the light of your presence.

So let us be reminded that God is with us in during times of trouble, and God is with us when we are ready to repent and turn from our sin.
