Normand and Henriette Saindon

Sara, Madeleine, Daniel and Jonathan
Chiconono, Mozambique

Normand and Henriette live in Chiconono in Northern Mozambique, where they minister to the Yao people. They have started a radio ministry, Radio Chiunjota, that which kills the thirst. They are serving with SIM, a missions agency. The Yao people are Muslims, one of the least evangelised peoples of the world. There are very few believers among them.

Daniel and Jonathan are with them, Sara and Madeleine are in Fishhoek.

Pray for:
  • Health 2 hours drive to nearest town.
  • Hardship of daily living helping others in need, baking bread, making fire for hot water.
  • Henriette in home schooling the boys.
  • Courage and perseverance to keep on Wisdom for the radio project.

Nick and Lynn Clevely

Caleb and Aaron
St. Helena Island

Nick pastors the four Baptist Churches on the island, collectively the St Helena Baptist Church.  He also does prison ministry, radio broadcasts and children's minis┬¡try.  Some doors have opened in the schools.  Nick is presently training some lay preachers, and extensive work has begun on restoring the church buildings.  Anglo-Catholicism has a strong hold on the island, and as a result there are many who think they are Christians but are not.  Low morality is a big problem on the island; promiscuity, marijuana and alcohol abuse are common.

Pray for:
  • For elders in the church presently there are none.
  • Lynn home schooling Caleb and Aaron.  She needs wisdom and patience.
  • For the Good News Club, our primary school outreach, and for more young people of all ages to attend the church.

Mark and Christine Harding

Tshepo Ya Bana (Hope for Children)
Hammanskraal

Tshepo Ya Bana was formed in 1993. Mark and Christine Harding aim to provide a Christian family environment for abandoned, unwanted and orphaned children. Healthy babies are usually adopted by local or overseas parents, but those who are HIV+, or who cannot be adopted for other reasons, become permanent members of the family.

When we think back 10 years or so and consider our lifestyle then... did we ever imagine that God would have led us to sell up, buy 24 hectares of bushveld and put together another family?

Prayer for:
  • For wisdom as we raise these children as our own.
  • For God to work in the lives and hearts of these little ones.
  • The work is exacting both physically, mentally and emotionally. Pray for strength.

Charles and Julie Woodrow

Kent, Sarah, Andrew, Grace, Benaiah
Nampula, Mozambique

A major goal of Grace Missions is to establish a conspicuous testimony for Christ extending throughout the entire Nampula province and beyond by providing quality, compassionate health care. We want to show the difference between surgical care provided through Christians indwelt by the Spirit of Christ and ministering as if unto Christ, and the kind of care available from those who serve from other motives. Our hope is that many patients will not only obtain good medical results, but will also seek the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ displayed by their nurses and doctors.

Pray for:
  • More workers, especially medical staff.
  • Financial provision for the many needs vehicle, hospital, training, etc.

David and Nicky Vaughn

Grenoble, France

We have recently had a couple of special evangelistic bible studies, one for women and one for teenagers, which gave the opportunity to share the gospel with non Christian women unbelieving teenagers. Most encouraging is the way-of-life evangelism being carried out by those who have been converted in the last few years here. One of our wo┬¡men who is a recent convert, Marie-Line, has been sharing the gospel with two teachers who worked with her at a previous school at which she taught. These two teachers have both recently lost a beloved parent. Both have been planning to visit an occult seer in order to make contact with the deceased parent. There are over 30,000 registered Mediums and Spiritual Healers in France.

Pray for:
  • God's blessing on their outreaches.
  • The French youth to come to faith in Jesus

Ena Erasmus

SAAWE
Kempton Park

Ena serves with SAAWE, South African Action for World Evangelization. SAAWE mobilizes the church to fulfil the Great Commission. SAAWE was founded in 1976 and has been instrumental to more than 1000 South Africans going to the spiritually darkest areas of the world.

Ena is involved with work in Central Asia, and serves with different partnerships focussing on this area. She is also responsible for developing and presentation of workshops and coordinates the partnership forum, two of the ministries of SAAWE. Her passion is for the nations that have never had the Gospel available. She is committed to partnership in missions - reaching the unreached by working together.

Pray for:
  • Daily safety on the roads.
  • Spiritual growth and understanding of God's heart for the world.
  • Obedience to God's guidance every day in all I do

André and Masha Bay

Stephen and Daniel
St. Petersburg, Russia

We are working alongside the local church here in St Petersburg both as Youth Pastor and Missions Director.  We concentrate on discipleship and building relationships with new young people coming to church. I also go to Buryatia as often as possible to assist Pastor Sergey Sotnikov in his ministry.  His church is in an area where two of Russia's least evangelized peoples are, the Evenki and the Buryat people.  We are praying to see new churches planted in that area.

Pray for:
  • Pray that God will raise up the next generation of Russian believers to take the light of the Gospel further.  Pray for Russian church planters.
  • Please also pray for our children's education.
  • And most of all, please pray for our own spiritual growth and for grace to be like David and not Saul!

Salomé van Niekerk

Nampula, Mozambique

Salom é van Niekerk is administrative assistant to Dr Charles Woodrow in Nampula, Mozambique. They hope to start construction of the first phase of an evangelistic surgical hospital soon, and many of her responsiblities will be tied up with the construction. She also manages the Biblioteca Fiel (Fiel bookstore) in downtown Nampula, and is involved with related ministries of Editora Fiel, a Reformed Brazilian publishing house with ministries in Portuguese-speaking countries. The annual Fiel Conference for pastors, church leaders and their wives is always a great highlight of the year.

Pray for:

  • The ministry of the Fiel bookstore, conference and other programmes - there is a great need for pastors and teachers to be impacted by the truths and helps available in good literature
  • Construction of Grace Evangelical Hospital, that the Lord would bless every effort for the glory of His Name
  • Salomé's own growth in her relationship with the Lord as she faces the challenges of being a single girl working in Mozambique
